ABOUT THIS TOURNAMENT:

If you’re reading this, you are probably participating in a huge Best Ball Fantasy Football Tournament hosted by Nick Guarisco on BigEasySportsTalk.com, where 50% of all proceeds go toward Paralyzed Veterans of America, a charity that helps severely disabled veterans by providing them with medical assistance to aide recovery and transition, legal services, and sports and recreation programs.

Last year we donated $941 to Paralyzed Veterans of America, and this year we’re already approaching $600.00 and the tournament isn’t full yet!

TOURNAMENT SET UP & RULES:

The Tournament has a $10 buy-in / entry fee and is divided into several 10-Team Leagues. Each League has its own player universe and draft, but teams compete and are scored against EVERY TEAM in the entire tournament weekly.
The team with the most total points in Weeks 1-16 wins.

What’s different from your traditional leagues (and what makes this league so easy to participate in and donate to) is that THERE IS NO REGULAR SEASON TIME COMMITMENT!

This league has a BEST BALL Format, which means all you have to do is just show up to the online draft in early August, draft your team, and sit back and relax all season.
The team you draft is the team you’re set with all season!

I will have viewing access to all of the Leagues/Divisions in the Tournament and I WILL AUTOMATICALLY SCORE YOUR ROSTERS IN THIS FORMAT FOR YOU. So there’s literally no work for y’all after you draft your squads!

Best Ball? Tell me more…

BEST BALL Format = Only your top scorers for each position get scored each week. IMAGINE waiting for all the games to be played each week and having a computer automatically adjust your lineup to attain its optimal score, making sure you receive the maximum points possible based on your players’ performances. That’s Best Ball.

Best Ball means:
– NO setting your lineups!
– NO start/sit decisions!
– NO waivers!
– NO trades!
Just Draft It and Forget It ! … basically.* (See “Swaps,” below)

There are NO HEAD-TO-HEAD MATCHUPS, just weekly tallied points that accrue for each team during Weeks 1-16.

Whichever team has the MOST TOTAL POINTS at the end of the regular season across the entire tournament field (out of all divisions/leagues) is declared the Tournament Winner.

And to reiterate, the 10-team Leagues/Divisions each have their own player universes and drafts, but you are competing against and scored against EVERY TEAM in the entire tourney (hopefully 50+ teams) on a weekly basis. YES, TEAMS ACROSS DIFFERENT LEAGUES/DIVISIONS WILL HAVE SOME OF THE SAME PLAYERS.

SWAPS:

Each team is allowed to make ONE SWAP PRIOR to the start of the regular season and TWO SWAPS DURING the regular season.
A swap allows you to dump one of your underwhelming or injured players for any player who was NOT DRAFTED.
ALL SWAPS COST $5.00, which, like the rest of the funds, will be divided 50/50 between the league pot and charity. No Payment, No Swap.
Once the money transaction is made to the Commissioner and he is notified of which player you intend to swap (who for who), that team will receive the swapped player’s points for the FOLLOWING WEEK AND GOING FORWARD.
Swapped players DO NOT REPLACE POINTS FOR PAST PERFORMANCES OR IN-GAME PERFORMANCES.
Teams CAN swap for the same players.
The only requirement for swaps is that you CANNOT SWAP FOR A PLAYER THAT WAS DRAFTED IN THIS TOURNAMENT.
You do not have to use your swaps. The whole purpose of swaps is to help out teams that got screwed from a major injury, to add ONE layer of regular season strategy to the game, and of course, most importantly, to increase the amount of money donated to the men and women serving the country!

Again, teams only are permitted one swap BEFORE the regular season begins, and two swaps DURING the regular season. Each swap is $5.00.

Let me know if you have any questions about swaps or about the tournament in general!

The Buy-In / Entry Fee is $10, and payment is made via Venmo.
