2020 Results

Overall, my 2020 B.E.S.T. NFL Mock Draft again graded as one of the most accurate mock drafts in the nation. My mock came firing right out of the gate, nailing 9 of the first 11 picks. Unfortunately, it fizzled out afterward, only connecting on 1 pick for the remainder of the draft, picks 12-32. Ouch! Nevertheless, the hot start allowed me hit on 10 correct player-team matches in whole. Additionally, 4 players were selected within 2 picks of their mocked slot, and 4 other players were selected within 3 picks of where I predicted.

Although mocking 18/32 players either correctly or within 3 picks is an impressive figure, mocking 8 players who did not go in Round 1 entirely is far from ideal. Regardless, I achieved my goals for my 2020 Mock Draft in terms of minimizing the surprises, as it correctly listed the right player on that team’s “Short List” for 24/32 picks, meaning only 8 picks were considered “unexpected” if you read and followed my mock draft.

My 2020 B.E.S.T. Mock Draft tallied 1430 points in NFLMockDraftDatabase.com’s scoring system, which ranked 4th among 300+ mock drafts graded by that site. I suppose it’s also worth noting that my 2019 B.E.S.T. NFL Mock Draft finished as the 2nd most accurate mock draft out of 251 entries graded by that site last year.

Comparatively, my 2020 B.E.S.T. Mock Draft notched 181 points in FantasyPros.com’s scoring system, which would have ranked T-12th among 212 NFL Draft Experts in FantasyPros.com’s Accuracy Rankings. (My 2019 B.E.S.T. NFL Mock Draft would have finished T-3rd among 138 mocks, scoring 166 points in this format last year).

Those are just two examples of a number of cool websites recently developed and devoted to compiling mock drafts and scoring them based on accuracy.
